English for all.
Jer Moua is the primary English instructor at the Phoulek English School. The school is located on the outskirts of Laos's gorgeous ancient capital, Luang Prabang. Jer, having learned English nearly entirely through conversation with foreign visitors, kindly offers his English teaching services to underprivileged, yet extremely motivated students in Luang Prabang's outer villages who can't afford to take English classes elsewhere. Their goal is to empower a new generation of Lao youth with the opportunity and mobility an English language education provides. Unfortunately, many hopeful students are unable to enroll due to the high demand and little space Jer is able to provide as a classroom.
To make things more difficult, Teacher Jer needs to find a new classroom space for his 100+ students that have enrolled for the 2017 school year. His original classroom is now unable to be used, so the only viable option is to build a new classroom on his family's land. But the cost to build a new classroom is very high, and as a recent college graduate, Jer can not fund the project on his own. Without a classroom, these students will be unable to learn English and will not be able to achieve a better life and a more sustainable career. We need your help to ensure these students receive the education they deserve and give them the opportunity to reach their dreams, as every student in the world should.
