A Dream for Teacher Jer

We're very excited to announce that we have started a GoFundMe for Jer to come to the United States!

Despite his competence in speaking the English language, Jer has never been able to leave Laos as a result of financial constraints. An opportunity has now presented itself to Jer through the help of Americans Jack and Linda, who met Jer through a mutual friend and were captivated by his relentless drive to provide English classes for Lao youth. Jer revealed his dreams to Jack and Linda of travelling out of Laos for the very first time in his life to visit a developed country, where he would have the chance to seek out new opportunities for his own professional development. Jer's main goal is to go to graduate school in the US and learn about how to return to Laos with his newfound knowledge to help build even more schools for the Lao people!

Jack and Linda generously offered to open their home to Jer during his trip to the United States, where he will spend months improving his English, auditing graduate level courses, and discovering new opportunities to help him reach his goals!

Jer has managed to run his English school on a voluntary basis, and hardly makes any income for himself. With our help, Jer will be able to realize his dream and eventually make an even bigger impact in his home country. We know first hand how incredible his students are, and we can only imagine how immensely grateful other Lao youth would be to have an opportunity to learn English with the help of Teacher Jer!
